Getting started

These are two distinct options with different purposes. “Contact Us” is for whenever you have doubts about how the consultation works, how to book it, or how to pay. It’s the perfect place for any logistical questions before you take the next step.

“Book your consultation” is a 30 to 45-minute paid session with a lawyer where we discuss your situation in depth and outline the best strategy to give you a clear path forward.

On the other hand, you can schedule a complimentary 15-minute session for Intellectual and Industrial Property topics with our expert lawyer.

Yes. Our team is multilingual. You can communicate with us in English, Spanish, or Hindi at any point, both during consultations and throughout your full case process.

We’re based in Boston (50 Milk Street, Boston, MA) and also work virtually. If you prefer an in-person meeting, we can coordinate that. If you’re in another city or country, we work with you fully remotely without any issues.

Yes. We serve clients across the United States, Mexico, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Many of our cases involve consular processes or cross-border situations, and our global presence allows us to support you from wherever you are.

Family immigration

Timelines vary significantly depending on the type of case, the family relationship, and the country of origin. Some processes can be resolved in months; others may take years. In your consultation we give you a realistic estimate based on your specific situation, not generic promises.

It depends on your particular situation. In some cases it is possible to regularize your status from within the country. In others, the process requires leaving and applying through a consulate. It’s important to evaluate your case before making any decision, because the consequences of a wrong step can be significant.

If you obtained your residency through marriage, a divorce can affect your process or your current status. In some cases, legal protections are available. The important thing is to act quickly and with clear information. We can help you understand your options.

Humanitarian immigration

Asylum is a legal protection for people who have suffered persecution or have a well-founded fear of suffering it in their home country due to race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group. If you think your situation might qualify, the most important thing is to act quickly: there are strict deadlines for applying.

Asylum is not an area we handle directly, but we can guide you and connect you with specialists in this protection. Write us.

VAWA is the Violence Against Women Act. It allows survivors of domestic abuse or violence by a family member or partner with immigration status in the United States to apply for protection independently, without needing the cooperation of their abuser. The process is completely confidential. If you’re in this situation, we can guide you safely and discreetly.

Business law

Yes. We support entrepreneurs and foreign businesses through the legal formation process in the United States, from choosing the right structure to completing the necessary filings to operate. We also coordinate with our firm in Monterrey for cases with implications in Mexico.

An RFE is a government request for additional information about your case. It doesn’t mean your petition was denied, but it requires a solid, well-documented response within the indicated deadline. Our team specializes in preparing RFE responses to maximize approval chances.

Creative & Identity Law

Using a trademark doesn’t give you automatic legal protection. Without registration, someone else can register it before you and force you to stop using it. Registration gives you the legal exclusivity to use it in your industry and gives you tools to defend yourself if someone tries to copy it. It’s one of the most important investments you can make to protect your business.

Yes, and in many cases it’s advisable to do so in both countries if you operate or plan to operate in both markets. We handle registration in both jurisdictions and coordinate the process to make it as straightforward as possible.

Legacy / Estate Planning

Unlike our immigration and Creative & Identity Law areas, which are federal and allow us to serve clients anywhere in the country, Estate Planning is governed at the state level. For this reason, Legacy services are available exclusively to people whose primary residence is in Massachusetts. If you have assets in other states or abroad, that’s not an obstacle — we factor that into your estate plan. Our starting point is where you live: Massachusetts.

Yes, and that’s exactly where our practice makes a difference. Many families living in Massachusetts have properties, accounts, businesses, or heirs in Mexico, Latin America, or other countries. We develop estate planning strategies that account for that transnational reality: from designating guardians who live abroad to planning the transfer of assets across multiple jurisdictions. International complexity isn’t an obstacle. It’s exactly what we do best.

It depends on your situation, but the most common documents are a will (to define who inherits your assets), a trust (to transfer assets without going through probate), a power of attorney (authorizing someone to make financial decisions on your behalf), and a health care proxy or medical directive (designating who can make health decisions if you cannot). In your consultation we evaluate which documents you need and why.

General

We serve anyone who needs our services, regardless of language. We’re bilingual and work in both Spanish and English. Our primary community is Spanish-speaking, but it’s not a requirement.
